This page gives an overview of the world-famous wax museum in London and contains important tips for visiting the interesting exhibition.

What is Madame Tussauds?

Figures of famous people in original size are exhibited. They look very similar to the real persons, you actually have the feeling to stand directly in front of these people.

Our tip: The queues at the cash desk of the famous wax figure exhibition in London are often extremely long (hunderts of metres). Without a ticket from the advance sale, you often wait for hours.

We therefore recommend that you buy your tickets or the Madame Tussauds on the Internet beforehand. You get the tickets on this link.

The name of the wax museum goes back to the Frenchwoman Marie Tussaud, who produced and exhibited the first wax figures in 1835. Today, most of the figures are famous historical and political figures, actors, musicians and noblemen.

Among the most popular wax figures are Boris Becker, Muhammed Ali and David Beckham. Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson are popular musicians. Among the politicians in Madame Tussauds are Merkel, Obama, Putin and Tony Blair. Also all well-known Hollywood stars from Charlie Chaplin to Tom Cruise are exhibited in wax. Since the beginning of 2017 there is also Donald Trump as a wax figure. Selfies with celebrities are very popular among tourists.
